Official Statement from Lancome:
HAVE YOU EVER HAD A BAD SKIN DAY?
Today’s lifestyle can cause havoc on our skin. External factors such as travelling, air conditioning, seasonal changes, pollution or late nights, as well as internal factors such as fatigue, stress or hormonal cycles, can all have an impact on your skin appearance.
These internal and external factors can sometimes result in your skin feeling and looking “different” causing a “bad skin day”.
Bad skin days can affects women whatever the age or skin type.

OUR SOLUTION?
It’s time to say bye-bye to bad skin days as we introduce the new Advanced Génifique Sensitive Dual Concentrate, our night skin saviour. A freshly Activated Dual Concentrate serum that will help soothe your skin whenever you feel it needs it. The face serum is enriched with the same ingredient as our iconic Advanced Génifique Serum – ferment extract, bifidobacterius extract as well as a lactobacillum ferment extract. In addition to these ingredients it contains an additional concentrate enriched with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid.

Whats a bad skin day to me?
To give you a little summary into my bad skin day – a ‘hightened sensitivity’ period of time on my skin. I usally suffer with patches of de-hydration in areas of my skin, with aggravated redness, along with a few blemishes around the chin area for good measure! Laverly.

When/ How do I use it?
To use this product you do need to use it on a night time, after you have cleansed your skin and toned. You use the Advanced Genifique Sensitive, the same way you use the original Genifique in a morning. You apply one pump of the sensitive to the palm of your hands and massage into your clean skin using your finger tips, avoiding the eye area. You then follow on with your regular eye cream and night time cream over the top.
I have been using my Visionnaire Eye Balm and Hydrazen Nuit Cream over the top my Sensitive Serum.

How do I activate the product?
You’re either gonna love this process or hate it. I was a bit worried doing mine for the first time, but it’s so quick and simple. To be honest, I wanted to have a go at another one it was that fun, felt like I was in my own laboratory. This is definitely some thing to keep the children entertained for 10 minutes!

How long with Advanced Genifique Sensitive last?
Advanced Genifique Sensitive is full of pro biotics and yeast which are natural ingredients therefore, Sensitive will only last for approxiametly 2 months from activation. It’s important to make a note of the date, you first activate the product, you have 2 months from this date.

What happens to the product after 2 months?
The product will no longer be safe to use, the colour of the product will change and also the smell, due to the pro biotics.

How do I know if it will be suitable for my skin?
If you’re unsure I suggest popping by to your local Lancome counter and get your hands on one of these samples and having a one to one, skincare consultation with a Lancome expert.

How has my skin changed since using Advanced Genifique Sensitive?
I would say its a lovely addition to add to a skincare regime for when your skin is feeling like it needs a pick me up boost, but I do agree with Lancome that this isn’t for everyone to use. I would only suggest trying this out if you do feel you’re skin is really suffering with the seasonal change or you’re going through a stressful period of work or you’ve been ill recently and your skins suffering because of it. You need to be sure you’re skin needs a bit of TLC and that you know you will definitely use this every night for the next 2 months of opening, otherwise I do feel you would be disappointed and not see the results that this product is capable of achieving.
Although its still part of the Genifique family, this little serum is in a league of its own, especially in comparison to the original Genifique. The sensitive serum is a lit bit thicker in texture, its still a runny fluid however I feel it is a tiny bit denser. I do feel that you can still feel the texture of the product on the surface of the skin rather than the super fast absorbing original genifique. It doesn’t bother me that the sensitive stays on the surface a bit longer as I don’t stick to the pillow and actually I prefer to know that the sensitive serum is working its way into my skin throughout the night. The colour as well is a blue colour, but in no way does this leave the skin with a blue tinge. Its quite fragranced but I think the scent is mainly the probiotics which you can smell, as it’s such a natural fresh ingredient. I wouldn’t say its an off putting scent but you can definitely smell it whilst applying to the skin, therefore you can understand why this product can no longer be used after 2 months of opening.
I found it quite easy to remember my 2 month mark as I opened it on the 22nd of August as the 22nd is my Birthday number, so I would suggest doing the same and picking a memorable number of the month that you can look back on and remember when you started the treatment.
I found from using the Genifique Sensitive, my skin looked a lot more soothed the next day from using this and didn’t look as angry in areas. However its important to note that the spots I did have at this time didn’t really go away from using this or get any worse. I don’t recommend purchasing the Sensitive Genifique as an anti spot treatment as this isn’t what a ‘bad skin day’ is in terms of this product, which can be a little bit confusing.
I would definitely suggest reading some reviews on http://www.lancome.co.uk and trying to get your hands on a sample at any of your local Lancome counters to see if this product is the one for you.

Let me know if you’ve been tempted to try the Genifique Sensitive or if you’re a lover of the Genifique Original Serum!

Thanks for reading,

6 Products to Fake ‘I got 8 Hours of Sleep’

Isn’t this the biggest goal we all wake up to on a morning, in hope we look like we’ve successfully got our healthy 8 hours of sleep each night? Well it is for me.

I wanted to share with you a few of my staple essentials to achieve fake this ‘look’ in hope to making morning’s easier for you.

IMG_2213 (2)

  1.  My holy grail serum – Advanced Genifique
I’m pretty sure you will all be sick of me rambling on and on about this product. So I will keep this short and sweet.
This serum is the best serum for perking up your skin, giving your skin a healthy luminous glow from deep within. Its helps illuminate and even out your skin making your complexion clearer and brighter, a non sticky or greasy formula. It’s a clear fat absorbing serum, which is measured out with the specialised pipette applicator – 1 drop per use, so you will never over use the product which again I LOVE.
  2. Genifique ‘Light Pearl’ Eye Serum
I like to refer this little beauty as a sister version of my fave serum ‘Advanced Genifique’. Except with this Light Pearl its only applied to the eye area.
Its the best eye serum I’ve ever tried and I’m yet to find any thing else quite like this on the market to date, so if you can prove me wrong leave a comment below.
It’s so unique to the metal ball applicator, this means that the serum goes on very cooling and soothing. This feels amazing on a morning as it really helps to wake you up, also the formula of the serum and the metal ball helps to depuff any tired swollen eyes.
The serum also helps deminish dark circles and fine lines and wrinkles over time too, see there really is nothing else quite like this!
  3. Eye drops
These are the best for awakening your tired eyes, brilliant as well if your eyes are feeling irritated and dry!
    IMG_2223 (2)
  4. Lancome, Hydra Glow Primer
The Perfect Primer for an extra shot of glowy realness! Brilliant for a drier skin, if you have more oily skin I would stay away from this as a base primer, but you can use this for a subtle highlighter. This is a multi purpose product, so its great for everyone, a small pea sized amount tapped above your base make-up will bring light and healthy sheen to your skin make-up you look radiant and awake.
  5. Teint Miracle Cushion
This is the best foundation for such a pale skin like mine which gives coverage but doesn’t look thick, cakey or noticeable on the skin. It really is a foundation which mimics a second skin effect. The soft pearlised finish gives a healthy radiant sheen to the skin and makes the skin look bright fresh and awake. You can blend this foundation in easy enough using your finger tips however if you want a fuller finish a brush is always better to get a more flawless finish.
  6. MAC,  Chromagraphic Pencil NC15 (Nude Pencil)
Now this little pencil is not one to be over looked at all. This makes such a difference and really makes you’re eyes appear bigger, brighter and healthy.
Its a flesh toned pencil which can be worn on the waterline inside the eye, this neutralises any redness on the inside rim of the eye. Which if you skip this step you will have picture perfect healthy skin with red tired sore looking eyes, especially if you’ve had a sleepless night. Running this on the inside of your eyes with take you less than 10 seconds and will stay put all day!

Let me know your favourite products you reach to when you need a little pick me on a morning!

The Highlighters You NEED.

Now with the Summer months approaching here! I thought you may want to see my favourite highlighting products to help give you that beautiful radiant sheen in the summer months.
I’m not sure about you but I’m a sucker for all things glowy, ‘sheeny’ and radiant looking. I love how they instantly help to make me look I’ve had 12 hours of sleep, I have the worlds best skin and to cheat that I eat my 5 portions of fruit and veg a day. Lolz.

Who doesn’t love a good highlight?

Best Highlighting Product for a Skincare Lover:
Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concerntrate

I’m kicking off with more of a skincare care treatment product. This is a serum so you need to use it everyday, the more you use it the more it will benefit your skin. It’s more of a long term permanent investment more than a cheaper quick fix ‘fake it’ product, hence the price tag at £59. BUT it’s so worth it.

Meet Lancome’s Advanced Genifique.

IMG_1722 (2)

I’ve been a HUGE fan of this product for about nearly 4 years now and used it almost every day since.
I apply this product every morning after I have applied my toner before my moisturiser. I’ve noticed it has really helped to improve the bright appearance of my skin, by making it looking brighter, fresher, more even toned and clearer. It also makes my skin smoother and softer. It works amazingly on a morning to give that fresh bright glow, without leaving the skin feeling greasy, oily or sticky. Its a clear formula which sinks into the skin straight away not leaving any residue or film. The perfect serum in my opinion!

It also works AMAZINGLY mixing it into a liquid foundation which already gives a nice healthy glow, to double the impact – making the skin look flawless!
Available to purchase here at £59 – £94, depending on preferred size.

Best Highlight for Dark Skin:
MAC Lustre Drops

IMG_1724 (2)

If you were wanting more of a an instant result and have more of an olive to dark skin. If you have a paler skin, I wouldn’t recommend so much, as the gold is incredible gold and ‘orange toned’. The MAC Liquid Lustre Drops in ‘Gold’ are stunning. You only get a small amount of product (18ml) but these are incredibly pigmented. Again you can use these on top of foundation for the high point of the face or mix it into foundation. I prefer to apply onto of the foundation as I feel its more noticeable and using a duo fibre brush I feel works well to gently buff the product into the skin without breaking down the base product, as they are very runny.
Available to purchase here at £18.

IMG_1733 (2).JPG

Winning Highlight for Multi-Purpose use:
MAC Strobe

IMG_1723 (2)

Another brilliant product by MAC which I cant go on a job without is MAC Strobe Liquid Lotion – original shade.

This stuff is amazing! So multi purpose!
You can either use it as a moisturiser base, before foundation, you can mix it with your foundation to lighten it a tiny bit and add a lovely radiance or you can just apply to the high point of the face. Again like the previous MAC product I think it works best to buff it into the skin lightly with a duo fibre blending brush. You can use your fingers with this product but I’ve find it just gets absolutely everywhere and feels like such a waste.
This product has lasted me 3 years – such an investment as a small amount goes along way as its so pearlised. Now MAC have launched some more shades to there collection to get the perfect colour glow you would like ranging from the original (pink) to red, gold, silver, you really should go into mac and swatch. I love the red toned one – which is surprising as the same does sound scarily awful. Its personal preference but I really recommend checking the strobe cream out if you’re wanting a higher end quick fix highlighter that multi purpose!
– Note: Mines the Lotion, I’m not sure if this is still available to purchase, but the lotion is just a tiny bit thinner than the cream, if you’re confused by the name.
Available here at £25.

IMG_1737 (2).JPG

Best Photographic Highlight:
Illamasqua Gleam

IMG_1717 (2)

Another kit favourite of mine is the Illamasqua Cream Gleam Highlighters in ‘Aurora’ and they do a darker shade in ‘Supernatural’ which I also have in my kit, which is more of a coppery bronzed shade rather than a yellow toned gold in comparison to the MAC Lustre Drops.
Be aware though that you do need to use these sparingly, as they can go a little bit ‘patchy and bitty’ if you use too much on the skin. But they photograph is seamless, so stunning, a really instagram pop of highlight, so soft, satiny but bright and reflective.
I find they only work by patting onto of base product, I don’t feel like they come through if you were to apply before a base product. In my time of using them also I’ve found they work best being warmed on the back of the hand before being patted onto the skin using my ring finger. I wouldn’t recommend a ‘rubbing’ circular motion to work this into the skin, as with the texture its quite thick to needs to be gently manipulated into the skin. If you go into store I suggest swatching this first before buying, so you can feel the texture if it would work for yourself. To me the texture isn’t completely desireable, but I love it because the results it gives.
Available here at £25.

Top Budget Highlight under £5:
MUA ‘Undress Your Skin’ Powder Highlight

I am obsessed with these, if you dont own at least one, where have you been. You need to go purchase one and thank me later. You can thank me for introducing you to a super duper cheap life changing powder which will give you compliments to the high heavens every time you wear it.
I own the Iridescent Gold, Pink Shimmer & Peach Shimmer. Hands down all are flawless and beautiful for the price, they give intense colour pay off and such a beautiful sheen on the skin. Apply so easy and are so buildable, they dont apply patchy nor do they looks too cheap or too sparkly with huge chunks of glitter.
My first one was the pink shimmer, and I get SO MANY compliments I cant even tell you when I wear this. I wore this to work once, and after 45 minutes the girl went on her break to go and buy it as  she couldn’t stop staring at the glow haha! Its also been referred to as a ‘unicorn’ highlight too, its incredible. You will love.

Current Skincare Routine.

Welcome back!

So I thought I would share with you today, my every day skin care routine. As these are one of my favourite topics to find out about people in hope I will find a new product I might want to try myself!

Cleanser
The cleanser I am currently using, I have been using on and off for the past 3 years. I only ever move away from it, to try other products.
This one is the Lancome Gel Eclat Foaming Cleansing Gel, suitable for normal to combination skin types. It is activated with water and only a small pea sized amount is required to cleanse the entire face and free the skin from any impurities. It leaves the skin feeling ‘squeaky’ clean, soft and radiant looking.
Its the perfect partner for the Clarisonic Mia, which I frequently use on a weekly basis.

img_0661-2

Toner
After Cleansing my favourite all time Toner is again by Lancome and is the Tonique Douceur toner. This toner is the best one I’ve tried, its a very gentle toner, but really refreshes and hydrates the skin quickly, it doesn’t leave the skin feeling oily or greasy. Its perfect for an normal to combination skin type and is alcohol free. I do strongly believe its improved my skins texture over time. It is slightly fragranced, I believe this is from the plant extracts it contains, but has never aggravated my sensitive skin.

img_0666-2

Serum
Surprise Surprise another product by Lancome!
This one is the Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concerntrate, Lancome’s Number One Serum. I have used this again for so many years and cant go a day without using it. It really helps to wake my skin up on a morning, its so refreshing and light. it comes with a pipette, in one click a measured amount is released, so there is no chance of over using the product. The serum is a milky white colour and helps to add radiance, firmness, elasticity, even out the skin tone and texture of the skin.

img_0665-2

Eye Cream
I love eye cream, I think its such an important part of a basic skin care routine. I sometimes get quite puffy eyes on a morning through tiredness and any form of eye cream really helps to hydrate my eyes and help me me wake up on a morning.
I do have to say I’m not particularly loyal to a certain eye cream, I tend to try something new every time my old one runs out. At the moment I’m currently using a La Roche Posay one for Hydrating Sensitive Eyes, its a nice light gel non- sticky formula and really fast absorbing.

img_0673-2

Day Cream
Again, I’m quite similar to eye cream with Day Cream. I have a few Day Creams I like to mix and match between depending on how my skin is feeling. I like the Lancome Hydrazen Day Cream for Normal Skin and another great one from Lancome is the Energie de Vie Liquid Moisturiser. If I’m wanting more hydration throughout the day the Embryollise La Creme Concentrate is a beautiful moisturiser and a great base for make-up. Currently I am using an Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moisturiser, I got a travel size to try when I purchased the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm and its a really nice cream. Not too heavy, not greasy. But I do have to say you only need a small amount as sometimes if you use a little too much and then go onto apply foundation it can peel off.

img_0676-2

Night Cream
The Night Cream I am currently using I absolutely adore. I have never seen such quick results from a night cream before. The product I’m referring to is again by Lancome and is the Energie de Vie Sleeping Mask. It is a 2 in 1 product. You can use a thin layer and the product can be used as a Night Cream or a thicker amount can be applied and be left on for up to 10 minutes and it can be used as an intense hydrating mask. The texture is very different to any other product I’ve come across, its a melt in formula to is a very light weight soft gel and once it hits the heat of the skin the product starts to break down into water droplets to hydrate the skin. It leaves the skin feeling super smooth, bouncy and soft. I know the Energie de Vie Range is targeted for a dull tired looking skin so is filled with a lot of anti- oxidants, lemon balm extract and acai berries to help fight against dull tired, de-hydrated skin. I love the  clean, fresh, light up lifting scent of this product, really reminds me of the Summer time.

Advanced Genifique #LoveYourAge

Hello again, hope you enjoyed yesterdays post?

Today’s post is about a product which has been around for a while but I wanted to share it with you, as I use it on myself every morning and take it to all jobs with me. Many women I know LOVE it and I’m sure you will too!

The product I am talking about it called Advanced Genifique by Lancome.

Advanced genifique is a youth activating concerntrate in other words a serum which can be used on a freshly cleansed and toned skin underneath your moisturiser, to give you that radiant, natural, healthy looking glow that we all want!
The self loading dropper provides a measured amount for the entire face and can be quickly massaged into your skin without leaving a trace, film or any oily residue. Which is why I love it on photoshoots, as it gives my models skin some TLC, without being too much and is great for all skin types, ages and ethnicities.

It focus’ on helping your skin look smoother, softer and more radiant looking within 7 days of using. It is a treatment for your skin, so the more you use it the quicker you will see the results and the better the benefits your skin will recieve. It really helps brighten my skin as well and my models skin instantly as the concerntrate works deeper into the skin than a moisturiser so you really have a natural healthy glow coming from within, underneath your favourite moisturiser.

A little tip I like to do on shoots is mix a little bit in with my foundation, (works best if it already has a dewy finish) to give even more of a glow to the skin and can help thin the texture of a foundation out if you feel it is a little too thick. This works amazingly on legs, arms, and the décolletage – dont believe me? TRY IT!

Another tip is Advanced Genifique can be used to refresh make-up through out the day. Use a small amount of Genifique serum and rub between both freshly cleaned hands and then press onto the face in light motions. You will see your base make-up look revalitlised and healthy again!

Advanced Genifique is available to purchase in:
20ml = £29.00
30ml = £59
50ml = £82
75ml = £94
100ml = £100

Ask in store for your free sample to try today!
Have you tried Advanced Genifique yet?
